In 2010, L&N launched its first mobile app. After 8 years, it had come a long way, but still needed a bit of polish.
The first mobile "app" developed for L&N was built by another vendor and was basically a port of a web application. Not the best solution by far.
In 2014, we were finally able to develop and actual app with another vendor, but the UX/UI still wasn't quite where it needed to be.
In discussions with the Digital Banking team, it was determined that the app needed to better bridge the experience of the full site and the mobile site. Being that the current app was an "off the shelf" template based product, we decided to re-brand the app to have it better match L&N's other touchpoints, be more brand-cohesive and differentiate itself from the competition. All while bringing the great service that L&N is known for.
Using tools such as AdobeXD, Sketch and InVision, we were able to prototype a new UI and send it around for various people to test and give feedback.
Icons used on the newest website re-design were also used for the same sections in the app to create better familiarity and UX for members.
The new version of the app (releasing sometime in 2019) has a more streamlined experience that more closely matches what L&N members are comfortable and familiar with.
We feel this will be a great addition to the tools and products that L&N offers to its members.
